    Frequently asked questions

    Are there ready-made word lists?

Yes. Choose a Topic – 25 themes such as animals, space, weather, sports, Christmas and Halloween – and the puzzle is created instantly. You can add or remove words afterwards.

Why was one of my words left out?

Words longer than the grid are skipped, and occasionally a word cannot fit around the others. Choose a larger grid or a higher difficulty (more directions) and generate again – skipped words are listed below the settings.

How do I print with the answers?

Keep “Include answer key when printing” on. The puzzle prints on the first page and a smaller solved grid on the second.

Can I make the puzzle harder?

Choose Hard: words can run in all eight directions, including backwards, and filler letters are taken from your words, so false starts are more common.

    Do numbers or accents work?

Letters with accents are converted to plain letters; numbers and symbols are removed.

    Is it free?

Yes, free for personal and classroom use, with no sign-up.
